The first shows of the new year brought a pile of wins for Team Kitaco at the Geraldine County Kennel Association Shows in Orari.
Our delightful Japanese import Flint (Bramver's Twilight (Imp Japan)) made his long awaited COVID-delayed NZ debut this weekend and took Best of Breed, the Best Dog CC and Best Intermediate of Breed in his very first NZ show!
He followed this up with 2 Reserve Best of Breeds Best, 3 more Best Dog CCs, 3 more Best Intermediate of Breed and then finished the weekend strongly with another Best of Breed.
He is an absolute delight to show, confident and happy and we are so pleased that his owner, Tanith Robb, entrusted her precious boy to us Bringing in an imported dog from anywhere else in the world is always a risk and cetainly no guarantee of a stellar NZ career, so we are blessed to have 2 imports now (Flint from Japan and, of course, our beloved Narci from Greece) who have been eveything we could have hoped for and more, both in the ring and out, and never let us down.
And speaking of Narci, his fabulous daughter, Ava, (Kitaco Smashed Avacado) had another stellar weekend too.
Our little star charmed the judge in Show 2 and beat Flint for the Best of Breed and then did it again in Show 3.
Not to be overshadowed by her imported Teammate's excellent performance, she also finished the shows with 2 Best of Breeds, 2 Reserve Best of Breeds, 4 Best Bitch CCs and 4 Best Puppy of Breeds.
,It was an excellent weekend, as the Geraldine Shows always are, although the weather ran the full gamut from rain, hail, bright sunshine and fog over the course of the 2 days. It was one of those occasions where, if you didn't like the weather, you only had to wait 10 minutes before it changed.
A final shoutout, though, must go to the real winner of the weekend... the fabuluous farmer who made a giant set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles out of hay bales and left them parked by the side of the road for no apparent reason other than to entertain passersby by on State Highway 1.
NZ is a wonderful place to live:)
